Who is DougFit?
DOUGFIT : On one frosty afternoon training in Central Park, New York, DougFit, (Douglas Chironno)’s client came up with the nick name for a social post on the start of her fitness journey. Since then DougFit has become a recognized as a superior brand of training and fitness with the tag line “Book More Than Workout” indicating there is more substance to the exercises and coaching than a workout class or general PT session ; for example working with DougFit is not only fitness coaching but nutrition education as well.

How did you get started in Nutrition?
Doug turned his biggest challenge, malnutrition (celiac disease) into his best strength as he went from being very sick at a young age to finding a cure which lead him to start working at a health food store. Recognizing the power of nutrition quality Doug did a 180 and began to eat super foods and research supplements that would help him put back on muscle. Doug’s rebound was so profound that friends and even his high school professors could not believe how much he grew. Doug became a competitive athlete exceling at the pure physical strength among his peers. Doug has competed nationally in powerlifting and bodybuilding he has spent the last decade helping others achieve and overcome their fitness goals with a more clear and effective model of how to eat and exercise efficiently.

Doug Has Been Working In The Field Of Nutrition Since 16 years old, Interned For A Holistic Medicine M.D. At 19 And Was Siting Rounds With The Clinical Nutrition Staff & M.D,s Of A Hospital At 22.
Doug’s first job was at a small health food store where he realized and harnessed the power of nutrition. Through Introduction of Doug’s first Nutrition Professor at age 19 Doug was offered a job assisting and shadowing under a prominent Natural Path M.D. that actually healed a great majority of her patients through nutrition, with success she was pioneering the field we now know as “holistic”, “functional medicine”. At 22, Doug on his own behalf volunteered to intern for clinical nutrition work at Phelps Memorial Hospital, this was an invaluable and fast track experience as he gained the staffs trust he got to sit in rounds with Doctors and R.N.s and provide nutrition and diet education material to patients moving to out patient.

Doug currently has his Nutritionist Dietetic Technician Credential and a M.S. in Nutrition but does not currently accept insurance.

By the time Doug graduated with his Masters In Nutrition he had built a strong career thanks to the network of clients and referrals he got as a personal trainer who was also a nutritionist. What is the Advantage of Using a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist

While you can get results from changes in either increased fitness level or from better eating habits that will speed up your metabolism, the synergistic combination of the two yields much faster and lasting results. It is also helpful to match exercise with diet. A common mistake I see in Dietitian and Nutritionist recommendations is the frequency of reporting leaves a client above or below needs during a persons personal training journey. This is because it is difficult to reflect a realistic view of daily/weekly modifications needed for the level of exercise a person is doing with a trainer unless there is a coordinated effort between the two professionals. In short both fitness and nutrition professionals will make a positive impact on a persons health and fitness journey , however it is much simpler and effective to have the same person in charge of calories in and calories out.

Randomly one day one of my clients realized the wonderful web had decided that I should top rank as the best fashion model trainer. I believe I am still up there, yes even above Vouge! (fun fact and for the record I was the actual personal trainer of Vouge’s wardrobe designer for a few years before I was ever even involved in fashion). Anyways, my rank is totally organic and I think its amazing the web recognized the real work I put into the mission of Haute Sculpt over the years. Long story short I went from helping a model drop hip size with HEALTHY nutrition tricks ( mainly changing her water and carbs week of the fitting) to -Fast forward a few events and I had the pressure on me to create HAUTE SCULPT : THE MODEL WORKOUT To Promote 90 Looks For An Athletic Wear Launch. Do I Need To Change My Diet To Lose Weight or Gain Muscle:

The Truth Is It Really Depends, While I Encourage Diet Planning With All PT Programs In Some Cases It Is Not Necessary and A Client Gets Great Results From The Exercise. Before I Do Conduct A Diet I Get A Full 360 View Of Your Goals, Current Diet, Diet History Before Recommending Anything, I Focus On What You Like To Eat , The Logistics Of How To Change Only What Will Make The Biggest Impact In Getting To Your Goal. In My Experience I Have Found Keeping It Simple And Focusing On What Absolutely Is In Between Where You Are And Where You Want To Go Is The Secret To Keeping Lasting Results.

What are the best exercises to burn fat and Can You Burn Fat And Build Muscle At The Same Time

YES!

There are many types of exercise that can help with weight loss and muscle building. Some of the best options include:

  1. Cardio: Cardio exercise, such as running, cycling, and swimming, can help you burn calories and improve your cardiovascular fitness. It is especially effective for weight loss when done at a moderate to high intensity for at least 30 minutes, several times per week.

    All of our fitness programs contain some cardio, the more pounds someone has to use the more cardio we implement (gradually)

    With several years competing in body building and being in the top 1% of strength percentile for weight in powerlifting, I have developed some of the best performing strength programs. Infact of my former clients were mistaken for personal trainers when working in the corporate gym world.

  3. High-intensity interval training (HIIT): HIIT involves short bursts of intense exercise followed by brief periods of rest. It is a very effective way to burn calories and improve cardiovascular fitness, and it can also help with muscle building.
